CBH has been a long-term supporter of the RFDS in WA, with the formal partnership starting in 2014 through an initial three-year agreement.
The two organisations extended their partnership in June 2022, for a further three years, through until 2025. A total of $1.5 million has been contributed over the duration to date since the partnership began in 2014.
Recently celebrating nine years of partnership, CBH’s contribution, on behalf of WA grain growers, has helped play an important role in contributing to airstrip surveys across the grain growing regions of WA and the purchase of vital medical equipment.
Support from CBH has helped to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for its world class aeromedical fleet of 17 Pilatus PC-12 Flying Intensive Care Units, 3 Rio Tinto LifeFlight PC-24 jets and 2 Fortescue Heli-Med Service EC145 Helicopters.
The extension will see CBH continuing to support the RFDS in WA for the next three years as an official matched giving partner of the annual ‘Flying Doctor Day’, which is the organisation's leading event on May 17 each year.
The RFDS in WA has 5 bases across Western Australia with 26 patients each day receiving aeromedical care from the Royal Flying Doctor service (Western Operations). RFDS crew carry their lifesaving care to reach patients located anywhere across more than 2.5 million square kilometres of WA - one of the largest and most remote health jurisdictions in the world.
