CBH Group announces Director Election results

14/2/2022

Following the closure of the polls today in the 2022 CBH Group Member Director Elections, the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) has counted the votes and advised of the successful candidates in Districts 2, 3 and 4.

In District 2, Jeff Seaby from Mukinbudin was re-elected as a Member Director. The unsuccessful candidates in District 2 were Jules Alvaro from Merredin and Chris Antonio from Northam.

In District 3, Barry West from Kulin was elected as a Member Director. The unsuccessful candidates in District 3 were Tamara Alexander from Narrogin and Dee Ridgway from Beverley.

In District 4, Helen Woodhams from Kojonup was re-elected as a Member Director. The unsuccessful candidate in District 4 was Phillip Blight from Wagin.

CBH Chair Simon Stead thanked all candidates who participated in the process as well as grower members for casting their votes in the elections.

“As a grower-owned co-operative, members have the right to determine their Member Director representatives on their Board and it is important that members exercise this right,” Mr Stead said.

“I would like to thank everyone who put up their hand to contribute to their co-operative as a Member Director and acknowledge all candidates on their campaigns.

On behalf of the Board, we look forward to the continued contribution of incumbent directors Jeff Seaby and Helen Woodhams following their re-election today, as well as welcoming Barry West, who with their skills, attributes and experience will add value to the Board.

“I would also like to acknowledge the six candidates who took the time to undertake the Candidate Assessment Panel process.

“The CAP process has been designed to encourage a high calibre of candidates to stand for election and promote merit-based voting by providing members with factual information about the candidates for their consideration when deciding which candidate to vote for.

It is a credit to the CAP process and the value that voting members placed in it, that all elected candidates participated in the CAP process.”

The formal appointment of Directors will take place at this year’s CBH Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The AGM will be held on Friday 18 February 2022 at Optus Stadium and is open to all registered CBH members.
